Very fine parts, M4 screw (would prefer M5 at least), no locking mechanism except pre-applied thread locker.

i haent used them yet but when i opened them they felt realy cheep like plastic. also was disapionted that i had to order them in 2 seperate orders cause it did not come as apair

This unit is surprisingly light and compact, which is fine as it doesn’t have to bear any load in use, just serve as a positioning device to let you set the chain tension before you fully tighten your axle nuts. The tensioner looks well made and goes together well with locking compound preinstalled on the adjustment bolts. Neither the wheel nor the chain have to be removed to fit the unit, which fitted neatly on my rear facing drop-outs. Once I had determined the right length bolt to use from the three supplied by trial and error (the range of each bolt is quite narrow, probably around 5mm) setting the chain tension was straightforward using a 2 mm Allen key (not supplied). One consideration, which I might act on, is that setting the non-drive-side wheel nut still introduces a little variablity in chain tension as you pull the wheel into alignment so a second unit for the other side would allow more precise adjustment. I’ve had frames in the past where both drop outs had integral positioning screws, and two of these wouldn’t break the bank. (I’ve seen now that these do come as a pair in some listings).Useful aid for single speed/fixed chain tension

This weighs next to ntohing, and infact I thought at first it was plastic, but the allow is super light. So I would not use this for heavy duty application, but it is well made and finished and comes with 3 length screws, all with threadlock on and is fairly simple to fit and adjust if you know what you are doing. For £5 (Nov '24) the value is good too. time will tell though how robust this super light chain tensioner is.
